In 2003, Painted Wings Studio launched a gift collection
for the museum gift store market. The collection
featured the
botanical discoveries of the Lewis and Clark expedition.
Dorothia
researched the botanicals and painted the original
watercolor
paintings. From that she designed each of the gift
items
that were marketed through Painted Wings Studio®.
The quality, pricing and the cohesive display of
the collection
appealed to the high standards of the museum stores.
These note
cards, decorative kitchen towels, shirts, bookmarks,
soaps and magnets
sold beyond expectations during the first season
of the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial.
